If you like to stay on top of every new and upcoming trend, then this one’s for you.

We’re ranking the top 4 predicted trends for home interiors in 2022… starting with number 4:

4.  The Combination of Vintage and Modern.

Instead of purchasing your furniture brand new, more and more people have decided to sprinkle vintage and antique pieces into their home, amongst their more modern furnishings.

The re-purposing of items is not only eco-friendly, but also creates a great dynamic between new and old pieces. Besides, you never know what story is behind a vintage item, which can make these items even more desirable.

3. Warm Tones and Neutrals.

A surge of beige, taupe, camel and generic ‘earthier’ shades are being predicted to make a reappearance during the year.

Creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere, the neutral tones are there to create a calming and relaxing environment from the constant changes we are experiencing in day to day life.

Moving away from bright and vibrant colours, it is expected that there is going to be a rise in these warm, neutral tones.

2. Plants, plants and even more plants.

Bringing the outdoors, indoors.

Houseplants are good for your health — and not just for their visual beauty.

Studies have proven that indoor plants improve concentration and productivity by up to 15%,  reduce stress levels and boost your mood, making them perfect for your home.

It began with plants on your windowsill, and has moved on to people attempting a ‘plant wall’, complete with unique hanging installations.

The point is, though plants have been ‘on trend’ for a few years, they are still remaining. So go out and treat yourself to some new greenery!

1.  The Introduction of Green.

If 2022 could be a colour, it would indefinately be green.

Coming into trend late last year, this calming color is exactly what our homes need right now. The versatility makes it an easy color choice for living areas, bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms.

Designer Ginger Curtis of the Texas firm Urbanology Designs, says the hue is starting to edge out blue as the most popular color to decorate with. To explain, the color is “a comforting reminder of the outdoors and our need for a connection with nature.”

With sage green and shades of dark green increasing in popularity, you can expect to see a lot more of it as the year progresses.
